Privacy
What we store
- Your account: email, display name, avatar choice, hashed password and settings.
- Your games: every guess, answer, score and timing for each puzzle you play.
- Your groups: memberships, reactions, nudges, chat messages and notifications.
Who can see it
Only members of groups you're in see your results, and only after they finish the same puzzle. Krillion answers are shown to your groups unless you turn that off in your profile. Nobody outside your groups sees anything.
Cookies
One secure, http-only cookie keeps you logged in for up to a year. The installed iPhone app keeps its own login separate from Safari. Google Analytics sets its own first-party cookies (_ga) to count visits. No advertising cookies.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see how Zingo is used and where it gets confusing: which screens you open, which buttons and links you tap (with the text shown on them, such as a group name or keyboard letter), and how far you get in each game (guess counts, scores, win or loss). Logged-in visits carry your Zingo account id, not your email, so we can follow a session across devices. We never send what you type into text boxes: chat messages, answers or passwords. Google keeps this data for up to 14 months.
Your controls
From your profile you can download all your data as JSON or permanently delete your account and history.
Puzzle data comes from The New York Times and Krillion. Zingo is not affiliated with either. This site is for educational purposes only.
